Originally from the Southeastern United States, the brother-and-sister duo has built a musical partnership rooted in both family and faith. Their journey, however, has not followed a conventional path. Today, Lynne Swaney resides in Canada following her remarriage, while Mark Daniels remains based in the United States, a cross-border collaboration that continues to strengthen their creative synergy.
Raised as children of a preacher, both Mark and Lynne were immersed in music and ministry from an early age. Their upbringing fostered a deep appreciation for worship, vocal performance, and musical expression, elements that remain central to their artistry today.

Mark Daniels spent years in radio before dedicating over two decades to a nonprofit organization focused on Alzheimer’s research. In the late 1990s, Swaney was part of a three-member female group where she wrote and performed original music, while Daniels supported the group behind the scenes as a manager and label representative. However, as life evolved, the group disbanded, and Swaney’s passion for music temporarily faded.
That changed in 2019.
Daniels reintroduced Swaney to her gift by encouraging her to return to songwriting, even gifting her a keyboard to help reignite her creativity. That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter, one that would soon lead to the formation of Lyn_Sey.
Since then, the duo has built a growing catalog that includes a full-length album and 15 singles. Their work has earned multiple nominations and awards, with several songs reaching the number one position on independent music charts.
